final opening

  1. the police / radio station changes creates a good opening to the film sequence, as well as the use of proving sentences to give a bit more information / insight to the film.
the extreme close up of the characters eye gives a good feel of tension, as well as showing the quick/faded clips of the blood on the hands and the persns body dangling - as if she/he is hung.
The variety of shots, and showing him looking out of the window makes myself (the viewer) feel scared and uncomfortable - as if i know whats going to happen to the girl entering her house.

This opening to a film definitly wants me to continue watching it!

  2. I like the repetition at the beginning of what looks to be like a newspaper headline, straight away this reveals what the story is going to be about. I also really like the sound of the radio at the beginning as again this gives you a little insight of what the story is about and also creates a really strong effect of a worrying atmosphere. I feel that the short clips work well to create tension as well as them being close up shots revealing blood and parts of the body, this makes the viewer feel on edge. I also really like the effect of the eye blinking at roughly the same time as the music as i feel this is a nice little effect.
The only criticism i can give is that i feel the music towards the end didn't work to well as i think that it got a bit to slow.
However overall this is a really nice piece and has worked well to create a scary opening sequence and definitely makes the reader want to carry on watching it.

  3. You have managed to frame your shots very nicely and the different shots make what's going on apparent to the viewer, my favorite part is where the boy smiles, this is because you can see he is slightly insane because he is enjoying killing the girl. The way you used blood makes the opening very dramatic, you also managed to hold the camera steady which makes your video more professional.

The only thing i can pick out would be one of the blinks is out of time so great job :)

  4. I love the beginning of the film because it sounds like an old radio broadcast which instantly has affect to the audience as "something's Wrong". I Also Thought that the white on black was a good touch because it was just simply and didnt over Exaggerate the scene.

I Also Thought that the lighting contrast of the blood and the scene was well thought out, as well as the background music which went perfectly with the film. I thought chloe used great close up view shots of the actor when needed to. The Amount Of Blood used in the film really sets the scene for the viewers, so as viewer we are aware of what is to come during the moving.

One thing i thought chloe could improve upon was the timing of the shovel at the end.

    But overall Well Done! :)

  5. i really like this opening, purely because the effects you've made with the blinking, tears, blood etc gives the audience an insight of what the killer is like. also the part at the beginning with the information about the killer shows that he has done this before and gives it a feeling that the story is true. I like the fact you haven't revealed the whole of his face and only shown it in parts ( the eye the smile side profile etc) which gives him some mystery. I like the way you've shown the dangling feet to appear that he has just killed and is now ready to kill again.
the only thing i can think of to criticize is that the title seems to fit something a bit more spookier and reminds me of the kind of film which has a hooded guy with a knife or something, if it was filmed during the dark it would have fitted it much better but other than that i love the techniques, camera angles and effects you've used and i would continue to watch this :)

  6. I like your opening sequence a lot because at the beginning you reveal most of the information that we need to know and this helps the viewer understand what the movie is basically about. I like the shots you have used you have got some very varied and different shots. I especially like the shot of the killer crying blood because this is a metaphor about his personality and its shows in a couple of seconds that he does have emotions. I like the way sound is used as well because it helps to build the tension. I think you did a really good job and that its a really good opening sequence. :D

  7. I Love this film opening its got a really good plot to the story and at the end wen the shovel comes down on the camera it is like it is coming down on you and makes you think that maybe he has started killing again or that he has unfinished business, this is backed up by the girl coming into the house and him being in her room waiting.
I really like the beginning where the story is being set out for you and the police radio behind it is like what the police cars would say to each other when trying to catch him.
The light on the first clip of the hand with the blood dripping down it was really good and added to the whole scene.
When you see the hand she is wearing a bracelet and on another clip you see that he is holding the same bracelet but it is all bloody.
The camera was used very cleverly with some good angles like when you are looking over his shoulder out the window when he sees the girl.
The timings are really good, for instance the blinking and when she says shes home he turns his head, The creepy smile near the end adds to the tention and you start to wonder what he is actually going to do to her, which you dont find out which makes you want to watch on and keeps you glued to the screed

    Very Good Job! :)

  9. Firstly the radio noise in the background and the information about the killer is really clever, creates suspense and makes you want to continue watching It. I Think the storyline is really clever how hes waiting for the girl upstairs and grins when he hears her coming. I think the hanging of the girl is really convincing and the blood dripping down her arm looks real. The only bit i didnt get was when the blood was coming from his eyes like tears, other than that i thought it was really good! :)

  10. I really liked the idea of the changing of the radio, it was like the idea to me that they were trying to change the radio channel yet every one was talking about the murder?
The blood dripping on the hand was horrible :( but effective :)as it really creeped me out. Was really creepy when the male actor smiled as soon as the girl actor came in, but it was very effective and threatning. well done chloe :)
